About Coach

I grew up with ice hockey as my main sport and also rowed crew in high school. Both of these sports had one major thing in common - no running. When I got to college and realized I needed to create a fitness routine outside of a structured practice schedule I had no idea where to start. Two of my friends were signed up for the local half marathon and despite my hesitations, they convinced me to sign up. I trained diligently because I was going from zero miles up to 13.1. The race was a success and on that runner's high I signed up for my first marathon. Since then I have completed 12 marathons including 3 Boston qualifying times with a PR of 3:19. After entering the fitness world fell full-time in love with other ways of training outside of running and have become passionate about strength & conditioning.

Turning Point

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Civil Engineering degree and began my career as a construction project manager. I threw myself into my work and spent all of my free time focused on my running. I slowly started to realize that I had a lot more passion for running and was no longer enjoying my work and wondered if there was a way to make a change. I spent over a year using my free time outside of work and training to pass certifications and look for opportunities in fitness. Despite dealing with a lot of rejection due to my lack of experience, I persevered continuing to look for the right opportunity. After a long search, I finally landed my first full-time role in fitness and have loved the experience of continuously learning and growing in this space.
